FAQ

Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. What is Radical Blogs?

Radical Blogs is a Project of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). It was designed to give radicals a place to blog and connect with other radical and progressive bloggers around the globe. We hope to build a community of activists that can help rebuild the Left in the United States and beyond.

Q. How do I sign up?

We thought you’d never ask! Simply click here, choose a blog url (ex: http://radicalblogs.org/blog), and then fill out the rest of the information. Then check your e-mail for a message from Radical Blogs and click the link in the e-mail to confirm your blog. That’s it! The entire process takes under 2 minutes!

Q. Do you need help?

Of course! We need more web and tech people if you are out there. We also need to expand the web and content collective. The group will eventually help expand the features on the site and make it more managable, more participatory, and more reflective of its members and blogs.

Q. Why are some of the features (like “Recent Blog Posts” ) difficult to view?

We are working on it. Currently, the plugins we want for the software aren’t out there. The software is still new. We are building other parts of the site. Suggestions and feedback are definately welcome! You an e-mail us at info@radicalblogs.org.

Q. Why should I use Radical Blogs when I can just keep using my Livejournal, Xanga, et al.?

Because you want to be cool- and let’s face it- everyone and their aunt has a Livejournal or Xanga- they just ain’t cool anymore.

Radical Blogs is cutting edge- well, sorta.  While Radical Blogs is still in early development, our development is geared specifically towards the progressive community. Most mainstream blogging sites either use tons of ads or are owned by corporate giants who collect and sell your information (internet habits, demographics, etc… ) to advertisers. By using them you are either funding corporations directly, or contributing to market research firms who want to install themselves in your brain. Don’t give in!
