Join the Staten Island chapters of Peace Action and Movement for a Democratic Society - and other local Staten Island activists - in calling for an end of the U.S. Occupation Of Iraq. Demand the Bush administration bring the troops home now. Make healthcare and education our priorities - not oil addiction, endless occupation, torture and war profiteering.

Join the Rally for Peace on Staten Island! Help us make this the Biggest Peace Rally EVER on Staten Island! Make plans to come: Saturday, June 30 from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM. Join us in Stapleton’s Tappen Park: Bay Street & Water Street . It’s a short ride by train from the SI Ferry.

The cost of the U.S. Occupation of Iraq continues to rise:

  • 3,457+ U.S. service members have died in Iraq.
  • Almost 700,000 Iraqis have died including 122,000 children under 5 years old.
  • 1.2 million Iraqis are refugees because their communities have been destroyed since the war started.

    Directions from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal:

  • By car or walking: Take Bay Street South 1 mile to Water Street. Turn right at Water Street into the park.
  • By bus: Take the S51, which goes along Bay Street. Get off at Water Street. Turn right into park. (18 minutes)

    • Directions from Bay Ridge:

  • By car: Take the Verrazano Bridge and get off using the Bay St. exit to the FAR RIGHT. Follow signs to Bay St. Turn left on Bay St. heading to St. George Ferry Terminal. Turn left on Water St.
  • By bus: Take the S53 bus in Brooklyn from 4 Av. station heading to Staten Island Get off at Lily Pond Ave. Transfer to S51 Bus from Under SI Exp. station heading to St. George Ferry Terminal. Get off at Water Street. (1 hr 35 min.)
