I recently moved from southern Ohio near Athens to New Mexico. A career move. A couple years ago though I stuck up a bright orange poster in Athens’ Donkey coffeehouse protesting the war in Iraq. At the bottom of the poster I put “SDS” — at a time when SDS had not yet re-emerged. Whether it ever had any effect I’ll never know but it’s good to see students at OU organizing. It’s always been a more or less progressive school.

write up. I hope SDS et al take good note of your capabilities. And for god’s sake tell them to plant some trees along the river there in Athens.
